    Default Another kudo for Bucks

This must be world record time. About ten minutes in and out of the Bucks County courthouse with my new LTCF. For your 20 bucks total, they even take your picture and laminate it. This sheriff wants to make it as easy as possible. They genuinely seem to like making it easy for law-abiding citizens.

I know, Bucks is awesome. The only reason it took us longer than 10 minutes is because we were behind someone whose paperwork for something took FOREVER.....

I see the Bucks' website says:
Also, resident aliens must provide a valid hunting license.
    Anyone know what that's about?

You know all the counties do that, right?

My only complaint was that the guy did not show us where to look...so we ended up looking at some old camera that was hanging there but the REAL camera was lower down....so our photos both came out to where the camera is like looking up our noses. Ugh.

On what do you base your statement? The sheriff's website says it's required (for resident aliens), although AFAIK that's not in any way a legal requirement.

    An odd extra requirement.
I wonder if it is their way of forcing aliens to take a safety class? Not sure what good it would be as I doubt that hunter/trapper safety education says a lot about carrying for personal protection.

Or else it is a way to try to keep permits out of the hands of migrant agriculture workers by adding additional monetary and time costs.

The Sheriff will even send you a reminder when your LTCF is coming up for renewal reminding you to renew. Bucks is real good about that.

That may be the case, but if so it's a recent development. Even some of the county web sites say to bring your passport-size photos or incur an extra charge, etc.
