    Thumbs up Auto-ordnance 1911 GI-Issued .45

Finally got to the range yesterday to try out the new 1911 .45 from Auto-ordnance. Its the "WWII" GI-model with parkerzed finish. Im a history buff and wanted something "old school" for my first 1911. I had heard good things and bad things about Auto-ordnance but the price was very reasonable so i decided to give it a shot.

At the range, the pistol did not disappoint! I only put 50 rounds through it but it performed smoothly with no FTF or FTE. Trigger was smooth and recoil was easily manageable (most likely due to the heft of this baby!). At 25 feet I managed to keep almost all shots within a fist-sized area, mind you I am not the greatest shot in NEPA!

All in all a pleasure to shoot =)

I got an AO GI M1911A1 for Christmas when I was 18 (about 15 years ago), and have no complaints. I've never understood all the bad rap. A friend has a Springfield GI M1911A1 and we took them to the range, shot ours, then traded and both of liked my AO better.

The only problems I have ever had is that it does not like hollow points, but the M1911A1 feed ramp was never designed for anything other than ball ammo.
    I want your vz.33

EFMJ, for when your gun won't spit out JHP's... Not the best solution, but they work...
