Default OC at Holiday Inn Fogelsville

For the first time, I was sitting in the Holiday Inn Fogelsville OC my Taurus 709 Slim. Manager sakes that I remove my sidearm stating only security or on duty officers are allowed to Carey per hotel policy.

As food was ordered I removed it. Asked for a copy of the hotel policy. Will post later.

As a follow up. No written policy.

Sounds like Holiday Inn corporate should be informed of this.

Shame, because I have been wanting to go to the bar and grill over there for some time.

Well, the Fogelsville Hotel just around the corner has no problem when I open carry there, and the food is excellent. Give them a try if you haven't!

I bet if you were open carrying the Remington, he wouldn't have said anything

Definitely let Holiday Inn corporate know about this.

Id love to know the policy if there is one. I like holiday inns when I travel occasionally, if they are anti-gun then I will take my cash elsewhere.

A phone call was finally returned from the Holiday Inn GM, John Lowe.

Apparently the on duty manager was wrong in that there is no policy, written or otherwise, regarding carry. Apparently, I was the first ever that was OC in the hotel. As they say, the cherry was popped.

There were persons that felt uncomfortable with me OC, and therefore, the on duty manager gave me a line of smelly stuff.

It was discussed that the decision was to ask me to remove the sidearm based upon private property and to make other people comfortable instead of allowing me to exercise my rights.

We left it on pleasant terms, but also him knowing that the word will be spread that Fogelsville does not welcome law abiding citizens.

    OC lunch in the future?

What about making YOU feel comfortable knowing that you were not defenseless?

I pass by there everyday on my way to work. Wanna do breakfast there in about a week or so? I'd like to do it after I get my stainless 1911 -- it'll stand out better than my blued one
