Recommended hammer spring weight for 92 trigger job?
So, I'm looking at doing a trigger job on my Taurus PT92 and Wolff makes reduced, standard and extra power hammer springs. Everything from 13 - 28 pounds (20 pound factory spring) and I know I want a reduced power spring but not sure which one. I feel like the 18 pound may not make enough of a difference for it to even be worth the trouble, the 13 is probably going to be a bit too light but maybe not. It's my primary sidearm for carry and my bedside gun so I don't want to make the trigger pull too light. I figure that a significant drop from 20 to 13 would require a LOT of snap cap work to get used to. I don't know how much the tension on the hammer spring relates to the trigger pull because I don't know what the weights are on the DA/SA pull now. Thoughts? Which of them would you try?
13, 16, 17, 18 & 19 pound reduced power springs are available.
