    Default Chinese SKS

Doing my normal gun shop runs last night. Only expecting to buy a little bit of ammo for my PSL, I end up bringing this beauty home

Chinese SKS. Looks like it was kept in a safe for a long time. I found this at Enck's Gun barn, and Bob had told me it was traded in only an hour and half before I got there.

Good catch....I like my Chicom SKS, best.

Another +1 for Encks! Bob is a great guy! Haven't been there in a few months....how is the rest of his mil-surp inventory?

That's a really nice looking rifle. I have a Chinese made SKS too but the stock on yours looks real nicely finished.

One question for anyone that can answer it for me...I also have the spike bayonet but I was under the impression that actually adding it to the rifle made it illegal. Apparently the knife style bayonet on the Russian made SKS is legal as it is considered some sort of collectible piece but the spike on the Chinese model makes it illegal.

Was I misinformed about all this?

I also had a 20 round detachable box magazine that I wound up getting rid of because 1) I was informed that using that also had legal problems and 2) I had no use for it as I couldn't use it on the range anyway.

Sorry to throw your thread off track a little bit but seeing that made me think of mine.

You will surely have fun with it. Mine is a blast to shoot (pun intended).
