I have a Barrett 82A1, TNW M2-HB, K&P built, McBros single shot heavy bench gun, and a Mcbros repeater action, which someday will become a tac 50!

the Browning M2 got me addicted to the feel of the .50 so now i want a Barrett M99 or maybe a Surbu BFG. but when i come up with the cash i always spend it on something else. someday I'll get one.

yup, I've had a Serbu BFG-50 since serbu started making them.
I'd say its the BEST low price 50cal on the market today.
ALL steel except for the pistolgrip and buttpad.
if you hit Serbvus page at http://www.serbu.com and chek the 50 section, the target shown on the 2nd page was the first 10 shots of the target I shot with Serbu # 008.
thats a 200meter target.
I say get one. Barrets a fine weapon, as is the Armalite, but the Serbu does anything I need a 50cal to do.

Where can you shoot 50 within a reasonable driving distance from the Phila/Bucks area? Eventually I'd love to move my 50 from the incredibly too large "want list" to the considerably smaller "own list"

Exactly...where can one shoot one...near Northampton County? I'd like one but they banned them from my range...and not having enough acreage at my disposal...
if you ever see my post edited...its most likely for speling :D

I've looked at them, but I can't think of anyplace within any kind of reasonable drive where it would be worth shooting one. There isn't a range anywhere near me that has even a 1000 yard range much less the kind of extreme distances I read about owners shooting with .50's. At the price per shot and all, it hardly seems worthwhile to putz around at 400-500 yards where you still could easily be using a .308.

Re: Any 50 BMG shooters here?
I know of the major .50 cal manufacturers, however there is one that is produced here in PA. I saw the guy at the Vally Forge show the last year or so. Nice rifle, uses the AR trigger group.
He is found at www.haloarms.com I have no personal interest in the company or the guy, seems to know what he is doing. I think he is somewhere in the Phoneixville area.
