S&W MP SHIELD 9MM
Got one this week for $399 + Tax,200 rounds wwb,50 rounds Rangers,50 rounds Black Talons,OLD stock,300 rounds total not one FTF or FTE,trigger is short just the way it should be,love both the mags it came with,I will actually retire my Glock 26 to the safe, this new S&W is what everyone has been waiting for sorta reminds me of a S&W 3913,scaled down and even lighter, blows the Ruger LC-9 out the door.

Re: S&W MP SHIELD 9MM
I hope to have one in my hands tomorrow. Then it's time to shop for new sights, and a nice IWB holster. Looks like my Ruger LCR which I loved is either on it's way out, or will retire to truck gun duty.

Re: S&W MP SHIELD 9MM
They lost me with the manual safety. Hopefully they will release a version without it.
(Maybe this will finally prompt Glock to do a single-stack 9 & .40.)

Re: S&W MP SHIELD 9MM
I'll stick with my Kahr, but if it didn't have the safety I would be tempted.
These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Thomas Paine 1776

Re: S&W MP SHIELD 9MM
After shooting my friends Shield i was trying to figure out how you would disengage the safety quickly. It was too small and way to stiff for my thumb to do it reliably. Maybe this was their way of making both sides of the people happy, safety vs non safety. or maybe it just needs broke in.

Re: S&W MP SHIELD 9MM
I plan to not utilize the safety, with the gun spending 99% of it's life in it's holster I don't anticipate it being an issue. I'll have to check it out in person prior to the purchase to confirm.

I intend to fondle one of these as soon as I see one at a local shop. My feelings from the earlier thread remain the same though, the safety is a deal breaker for me. I'm glad to hear the positive reports, it makes me hope even more that Smith decides to release a no safety version.

Re: S&W MP SHIELD 9MM
Love mine. The safety is hard to engage but easy to disengage. Ive not carried with a safety for years and I don't see it being an issue.

Re: S&W MP SHIELD 9MM
MD-2, Some reports have it with the same size as a 9C only single stack. Is this your impression as well? I wonder how it sizes up compared to a PF-9 or PPS?
