Default Concealed Carry Permit Application Timing

Hey all, looking for some current information on application timing for Adams county and more importantly how long they will hold the permit for pickup. I have my permit for SC where I reside and will be visiting my mom for a day or two at the Brethren Home in New Oxford in August and would like to get a PA permit at that time if I can work out the logistics of mailing in the app and picking up ther permit in person. Is the Adams county sheriffs office friendly to non resident applications? Any idea how long they will hold a new permit for pickup?

    Thanks in advance,
    Thom

Thanks HG. I switched to York county since I have children there and the hours for pickup fit our travel plans better. I waited to be inside 90 days, completed applications for my wife and me, provided all the requested documentation and sent it off. Wife and I just got email that our permits were ready to be picked up so as long as they will hold them like they said ( max 90 days) we should be all set as we will be picking them up August 11 (44 days).

You may want to try getting it in York county, at the court house in York city. The sheriff issues them while you wait or if they are busy then they will ask you to pick it up the following day.

Lee, we did switch to York county but mailed in our apps since we are applying for non-resident permits and need to make sure that they are ready when we visit next month. Got a confirmation email that we are all set.

It is pretty painless getting them in York Co. When you go to pick them up, dont take a cell into the court house, They are not allowed.

I have to renew my permit in January. Does York have a renewal app, or do I need to complete the regular application?

You will get an application in the mail a few months before it expires. They are the same forms but the "renewal" box is checked instead of the "new" box.
They also include a form you can fill out to let you know it is ready to be picked up. I gave an email address and they let me know it was ready to be picked up 3 days after mailing the forms off.
