Default The AK Platform: Mechanics and Manipulations

    www.argivedefense.com

The AK Platform: Mechanics and Manipulations Workshop
One Day Tactical Course Price: Free

This will be limited to 12 people.

One thing that has been noticed over the years is the lack of proficiency in regards to mechanics many shooters have when it comes to manipulating their chosen weapon system.

The AK is no different. In many ways it is a very simple system comparatively speaking but for all its base line simplicity many people seem to have no more than a rudimentary skill set. Yet many shooters in their minds see it as their, “go to” rifle.

In this one-day course we will hyper focus on these skill sets and attempt to ingrain students with a better understanding mechanically of the AK platform and its capabilities.

The purpose of this class is to make your mechanics a second nature function so in a lethal force situation you can focus on the task at hand, that being, “situational dynamics”.

This course will have minimal live fire and be limited to handgun rounds for use in transition drills.

    Topics Include

    - Two point sling methodology.

    - Proper shouldering/points of contact.

    - Reset drills and trigger control.

    - Aiming methodologies.

    - Ready positions.

    - Magazine manipulations.

    - Bilateral shoulder work and transfers.

    - Malfunction clearance methods.

    - Turning methods.

    - Changing elevation methods and platforms.

    - Simple linear movements.

    - Lateral movement methods.

    - “Get off the X” concepts.

    - Rifle to handgun transitions.

    - Team concepts.

    - Retention concepts.

    Equipment List for the Course

    - One AK platform rifle with a two point sling (no rifle ammunition needed)

    - One handgun with holster, magazines (3) and 50 rounds of ammunition.

    - Eye and ear protection.

    - Knee and elbow pads a must.

    - Gloves.

    - Chest rig / dump pouch or Sneaky bag combo. You need somewhere to store your partially depleted magazines.

I have one or two clarifications and addendum's.

    Bring a mouth guard.

    Gloves

Training knife if you have one. There is some blade work during counters. Also, after class if there is any interest we will be doing some blade work.(Not live, training blades only)

We work from a two point sling. It does not have to be anything high speed. A mash hook and buckle with plenty of extra nylon is perfect.

We lost one and picked one up. So we still have one slot left and its not to late to get on board. This is a great opportunity to cut your teeth on the AK. We should have enough spare AK's to go around so not having an AK is no excuse!
