Go to the Lehigh Co sheriff's office with your money, ID, and the addresses and phone #s of two PA resident references. Fill out the form, pose for the picture, go home and wait a few weeks.

I've never heard of fingerprinting for a PA LTCF.

Finger printing is not a requirement for a PA LTCF, HOWEVER, Philadelphia takes prints, : http://www.phillypolice.com/assets/d...pplication.pdf

You have to admit, the Lehigh County Sheriff's web site is not exactly overflowing with helpful information on the subject.

The application, process and requirements for a PA LTCF are to be uniform and standard across every county in PA.

Fingerprinting is not required, interviews are not required, signing or filling out any forms other than the ONE page form created by the state police is not required, documenting your tattoos, sexual orientation or what you ate for breakfast is not required, your references can be from any county, state or city on the planet earth, you do not have to pay off parking tickets first, your references, your employer, your mother or you sister or anyone is NOT to be disclosed that you are applying for or obtained a LTCF. You are not required to pay more than 20 dollars, you don't have to sign anything promising to conceal. You are under no obligation to fill out or have filled out a police check card. You must be approved or given a written reason for denial within 45 days of applying. Days... Including weekends, holidays, etc. A day is midnight to midnight, not business days.

If you are asked or demanded to do any of the above outside of the uniform process, your Sheriff is breaking the law.

    I think that's everything.

Great post... except that there is no legal requirement for references to be Earthlings.

OP if they give you any issue, call Representative Gary Day's office. He'll handle any problem as best he can for you.

If we need to challenge the sheriff again for running someone through hoops it will be rather easy to do.
