    Default GSG 1911-22 guide rod

The crappy plastic guide rod in my GSG 1911-22 broke today at the range. The long piece broke-off the base.., and shot out. I couldn't find the long piece anymore. I bought the gun months ago, so I'm not even sure of the warranty status...or whether it covers only the first/original buyer.
    (I emailed ATI already).

Anyways, does anyone know where I can buy better guide-rod (or rod/spring pack)? Preferably, metal this time. I hoping the seller would be a reputable one.

    Thanks.

Mine broke a while ago too. Give them a call and they will tell you if yours is still covered by the warranty.
I got the free one from them but also ordered one from GSGPro. I have an extra one now for my wife's in case hers breaks.

this is the one I ordered, its a good quality piece. http://www.gsgpro.com/GSGPRO/Extended_Guide_Rods.html

Dumb question, I have a GSG Anniversary edition on the way to me and want to put a metal guide rod in it right away. Do you need to buy the spring as well, or can you use the one it comes with ?

You can use the spring but the ones from gsgpro are just a bit better.

    Thanks everyone.

Cruzans, in my browsing on internet for parts, it seems some after market guide-rod are thicker (better?). In those cases you probably need a suitable spring. I would buy the guide-rod and spring just to be sure.

BTW, ATI has responded and is sending me the parts. I will wait for the replacement parts and see if it's improved version. Also, I have a major purchase coming so any dollar I can save/delay spending, the better.

Mine wasn't plastic either, it was a cheap cast metal that snapped at the base. I didn't know it broke until I started having issues with the gun while out shooting one day. Took it apart and found the guide had broke into two parts.
