Default In need of a gunsmith STAT!

I need a gunsmith that can clear my S&W 586 revolver free of its jam, it seems like the reloaded ammo I was using failed to fire and the projectile is basically just sitting between the wheel and the barrel.

Also, I would need a complete rebuild as well... I'm talking like its in pieces... I tried to fix it myself... yea I know... horrible idea, well... now I can't figure out how to put some parts back on and its driving me insane!

Please tell me there is some one out there that can fix this... anywhere in PA is fine, but the closer to NEPA the better... I will ship as long as you can provide me with references or reassuring info that will help me to trust you. Thank you.

Assuming what you say is correct then a brass rod approx 5/16 in diameter can push the bullet out of the forcing cone and into the cylinder from the muzzle end. Then you can free the gun.

I cannot visualize what else you may have done as the revolver would be effectively jammed. Dave_n

Have you talked to the crew at advanced arms and see who they use? I dont think they do it in house but Im sure they get a ton of smith work that comes through the door.

thanks for the advice, I didn't think they actually handled any smith work, but I did just drop them an email.

Try this shop. They are members here on the forum and fairly local to you.

They took the time to help me with some M14's via email and phone when a unit I was with was deploying. Real standup guys.

Pushing the bullet out with the rod usually means tapping with a mallet with the gun in a PADDED vise, not pushing with your hand. Dont know if that is what you tried?
Is bullet cast or jacketed? Jacketed are "stickier" Also a good spray of Kroil a while before you start can help a lot.

Considering the condition of the gun as you describe it, I find it hard to believe you think you could legally ship the gun anywhere.

Also, can you guarantee the round stuck in the gun is now perfectly safe? If not, even transporting the gun could be a problem.
IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)
