Sig mosquito vs. Walther p22 pistol and can packages
So I'm kinda in the market for a .22 hand gun due to the fact that .40 is a little to expensive for every day shooting. I'd like to get a .22 tacticool pistol and since it be cool to also get a can that I could also use on a .22 rifle probject I have in the back of my mind I was tossing around the idea of getting one of these guys.
Any one have experience with either? And before we start spouting out all the rules and regs about NFA items I know what the process entails. Thanks in advance.WHEN DEMOCRACY TURNS TO TYRANNY, THE ARMED CITIZEN STILL GETS TO VOTE

Re: Sig mosquito vs. Walther p22 pistol and can packages
I have a suppressed p22 and love it. Would not own a sig mosquito as I have not heard one good thing about them. My p22 shoots everything, when suppressed with subs sometimes you will get a fail to cycle the slide but its not often...nor is it uncommon in suppressed weapons. Subs are not necessary really because most regular .22LR stays subsonic out of the gun anyway.
That said I would also consider a gsg 1911 as a host weapon if I was just getting into the .22 now.

Had a Sig Mosquito for about a month. Piece of junk. Only thing it was good for is practicing clearing failures. *rolling eyes*
Traded for a Ruger SR22 pistol. MUCH better. Not sure if that works for your project though. Just saying....don't get the Sig."Stupid people are ruining America." --Herman Cain

Personally I've had both, and they were both garbage. The P22 especially. It's made of pot metal. And the only two pieces of steel on the gun will rust away to nothing.
If you shoot often you will get bored with either of these guns, can or no can.Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here

Go for the suppressed Ruger with what looks like a 10" barrel. Bulletproof. Dave_n

So what's the word on the ruger 22/45? They sell to models with threaded barrels one with sights and one with a Piccatiny rail.

Ruger SR22 has been flawless with about 10 types of 22 ammo. Great gun, perfect size, shoots right on the sights. But is suppression is really important, then look at the traditional ruger semi autos.

Re: Sig mosquito vs. Walther p22 pistol and can packages
The Sig Mosquito is very sensitive to ammo. I have two of them and they both work well with CCI Mini-Mags and I also have found that Remington Golden Bullets work well. I could not use Federal at all. I had both failure to feed and ejection problems with them about once every magazine.
If you find the ammo that works for them, they are great. Very good groups even for my daughter who has only shot them twice.
