Default Need to renew LTCF in Washington County....

Anywhere other than the Washington PA sheriff's office available? Problem is, my wife and I will both need to eat 1/2 a day of work to go over during their hours, which are Mon-Fri 9-3:30 (After you factor its about an hour to the courthouse from my work, and she would need to travel to meet me from her's)

Only thing it seems Allegheny has over them.. 10 minutes, downtown Pittsburgh, on a Saturday morning, bam... you got in and can get the LRCF right there.

You might want to call them and ask if it can be done thru the mail. In Fayette County a first-time applicant, also a forum member here, recently did his all thru the mail without once going to the sheriff's office. Of course each and every county is different it seems, but it wouldn't hurt to ask...especially since it's a renewal

Hmmmmm... I find it interesting that on the sheriff's website it specifically states "The Washington County Sheriff’s office does not issue license to carry permits for out of state residents".

I thought that under the UFA that they had to as long as the applicant held a license or permit from their home state.

It does, but since out-of-staters can apply to any county, it's easier to use a Sheriff who's known to issue than it is to spend the $$$$ on the formal legal appeals process that would be required to force compliance.

Actually... Allegheny County doesn't have weekend hours anymore :/

It sucks 'cause I have several friends who want to get their LTCF, but work 9-5 jobs :/

    Ah, well.

Guess thats their way of making most of the honest folks who will go through the trouble to get them "pay" for the audacity of carrying a firearm concealed.

What gall we have to work and want to carry a gun!

Got mine through Washington County, the upside was it only took 15 minutes, and I walked out with my shiny new permit. The staff was nice, and Ace sporting goods is 10 minutes down Route 19.
