Words other than "PULL"
When shooting trap, I notice most people shout PULL.
Some people, especially it seems more seasoned shooters, make other odd noises to set off the puller.
Is there any strategy to this?
Can you say any word or soud (well any one you would use in front of your grandmother)?
Also, what would you do if the guy next to you is doing distracting things while you are shooting? There seems to be a lot of Psy-Ops going on in these competitions.

The distractions are good practice for mind set.

Gee, I usually shout "Someone hold my beer!"
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Re: Words other than "PULL"
If you want to dish out your own Psy-Ops, show up with a Mossberg or Remington pump and shoot better than them.

Re: Words other than "PULL"
I've got a Remington 1100 so I dont do the pump.
I definitely get the impression that outshooting them, or at least staying real close to their scores is the way to get them. But since I am still inconsistent I must resort to using goofy words.
I like the idea of yelling BEEEEER! I may try that next time.

Re: Words other than "PULL"
When I shoot trap with the in-laws, most of the people there use "UP". Unfortunately, most of the time is just sounds like they are clearing their throats while murmuring. But it works.
Apparently, and from what I have seen, the harder "P" sound in "up" sets off the devise a lot easier than then "p" sound in "Pull" does. I don't know why it works, but that is what I have observed.
