Re: How do you feel about AR15 color fill?
I think it looks great! Might have to try that on one of mine.

Re: How do you feel about AR15 color fill?
I did mine with china markers. There are a few AR web sites that explain the process. Basically, you swirl the markers (which are just crayon like grease pencils) over the stamping in a circular motion, filling in the crevices, then remove the excess.
What I learned is that many how-to's tell you to use isopropyl alcohol to remove the excess, which WILL work, with enough patience and elbow grease. I figured out that good ole Hoppes #9 is much faster. I wore myself out with the alcohol before I figured out that Hoppes is great.
The pencils cost about a buck a piece, so it's a cheap experiment.

Not my thing as I prefer to keep them as is with no color fill, but if you like it that's all that matters.

Looks great. I've tried white out on my Mosin-Nagant but it never looked good. I should have tried nail polish.

Looks great. I use something at work called laquer sticks.they are a lot like a crayon and easy to clean up.

Re: How do you feel about AR15 color fill?
I can't imagine running an M4 without one! I shoot the rifle lefty so reaching over the top of the rifle to hit the bolt catch kind of sucked. I strip the magazine with my right thumb, replace it and drag my thumb on the way down to release the bolt. I've tried to accidentally engage the bolt catch and it's really hard to do unless you mean to do it. It's actually Troy's take on the BAD, they just call it an ambi bolt catch. I bought it because it looked like there were more grip serrations than on the Magpul and I was able to buy it locally.
