The Silencer Co Flat Dark Earth Osprey is no longer in production.

I ordered an FDE Osprey in September of 2010 for myself.
From the first images on their site it looked coated, not anodized. Figured it would look pretty nice on a 1911 with FDE grips.
In the transit time of the Form3 they changed the website around along with the color of the can on their site.
When it showed up, it was gold not FDE. I was not happy and swapped it out for a black one.
From talking with Gary and Josh at SilencerCo, each batch came back a different shade of anodized “FDE”
They have since stopped selling them.

It does match the FN pistol pretty well though. The two-tone color works in that case.
I have not seen hide nor hair of any FDE cans though in almost 9 months.

Now for the suppressor/pistol combo. Absolutely awesome combo.
A customer of ours got one for his FN and he and I went head to head with my HK USP Tac.
I was biased due to liking what I own and what I am used to. But the FN is a great host weapon. Factory threaded barrel, high sights. Just thread it on and go quiet.

If you want to hear the Osprey or the TiRant first hand, let me know. We can set up a demo.
    I have both M16x1L and .578x28 pistons. (HK UPS Tac45 & 1911)

The FN Tactical is a stellar pistol. The HK's are great pistols, but the extra capacity sold me on the FN. The FNX is almost impossible to find, especially in FDE, so I settled for the black FNP. The differences are negligible besides color.

I run the black FNP with an AAC TiRant 45 on it and the combo is great. My favorite pistol by far. Very, very quiet and smooth shooting. The sights are more than high enough to see over the can, and the TiRant is ultra light for it's size.

No experience with the Osprey, but I do have a .578-28 short and a 1/2-28 piston (sub-cal shooting) for the TiRant if you wanted to see the combo.

I've wanted to test shoot one of those FNX's for a while, I've only read good things about it generally. Currently I run my osprey on a HK USP45 tac and it's a great suppressor, def would buy it again if posed in the same situation.

oh and I saw Nate's first osprey when it came in and it looked god awful, glad to hear silencerco stopped offering that abortion of a color for their can...
