    correct.

although, you can use a vertical grip if the OAL exceeds 26"

If I removed the silencer and put a smaller rail on it isnt too bad really. The actual barrel ends an inch and a half before the end of the rail. I built it so the suppressor would actually be under the rail when mounted. Just another 10" AR lol as for concealable....well i never really planned to "conceal" it or any ar pistol. Its basically a stop gap for me till my sbr stamp comes in.

Good thinkin'. I was kinda joking about the "conceal" part.

Just buy the barrel and build it. That's what I did.

The best price on 7.62x39mm barrels I found was the citadel units @ alpha shooting sports.

    Barrel-
    Bolt-
    Gas block-
    Hand guard of your choosing-
    Pistol length gas tube-
.30 cal muzzle device. (Citadel x39 barrels are 5/8x24tpi BTW)
    XP hammer spring
    enhanced firing pin (galati intl)
    conversion magazines (A.S.C., KIES, etc)

I used a carbine spring and buffer. BUT* I used a KIES adjustable gas block which means I don't have to play with springs and buffers, I just adjust the gas until it's right instead.

Bolt carrier of your choosing. Nothing special needed in the lower. Except *maybe the XP hammer spring.

I also DID work on the barrel extension. And I think anyone that doesn't, and expects all to be pink puffy clouds is... well... insane.

But it runs well. Didn't cost me a lot, and is pretty damn accurate for a 7" barreled gun.

Ballistically... out of a short barrel. 7.62x39mm beats the balls off of a pistol caliber, 5.56, 5.45... etc. 300BLK would be better however. As you can go HEAVY in the subs and not need conversion magazines.

But 7.62x39mm is cheap. And hits hard even out of a really short barrel.

Recoil is... apparent. And I'd honestly suggest getting something that directs the blast forward. Firing such a thing without any muzzle device requires sunglasses, and welders gloves. It's like a 3ft effing fireball. Daytime visible.

    Jus' sayin'!

But IMO this is the WTG in an AR pistol if you aren't going 300BLK. It's an insane amount of gun packed into a little SMG sized package.

best bet, virgin lower with a pistol tube buffer. i just got finished building one of these.
    tony

    forgot: no forward grip!
Not correct, AR15.Com has ATF letters posted in their forums stating having a stock doesn't make it a rifle.

AFG intead of a VFG, done.
