1911 thumb safety
The thumb safety on my RIA 1911 needs to be tighter, it is way to easy to disengage. Any suggestions? I am a welder and i thought about extending the lobe that engages the plunger, what do you think of that? Any thoughts at all are appreciated!

Re: 1911 thumb safety
Before doing that have you tried a new plunger spring? Maybe just pull yours a little longer and try it.

Re: 1911 thumb safety
Take the safety off and look at the little depression that the plunger sits in. It may a bit too shallow. Just drill it a bit (not much mind you) deeper and you will have a more positive feel to the safety engaging and disengaging.
