I'm left eyed and formerly right handed, now I'm ambi.

I'm right handed/right eye dominant & shoot with both eyes open. When I need to transition to the left hand with the handgun, I tilt my head & rest my chin on my left bicep. That puts my dominant right eye in line with the sights.

That method doesn't work for long guns though.

Teach her how to use BOTH eyes while she's still young. It really bugs some people that I can switch between eyes at will although left eyed/right handed.

When it comes to shooting, let her decide which is more comfortable, left or right .... Quickest way to get a kid off something is to make them do it your way.

I am right handed, left eye dominant, I have an astigmatism, and wear glasses. I find it easy to shoot right or left handed using my left eye through pistol sights, and right eye through rifle sights. I always shoot with both eyes open.

Also look up the Center Axis Relock technique. I have tried that before and from what I can remember you can align on either eye.

Hand gun Left eye but both open ...... Long gun .... I close left and use sights with right ...... When thinking or not it's second nature anymore ..... NRA teaching when I was 12 yo ..... What's the big deal ....

Im left eye dominant and right handed. I shoot both pistols and long guns with my right hand. I use my left eye with handguns and I've taught myself to use my right eye with rifles. Its easier with some sort of optics, but I can do it with iron sights too. With both pistols and long guns I shoot both eyes open.

With long guns I can do two with optics or irons ...... But I am better with one ....
