Congress to reward telecoms for breaking the law
Today the Senate passed the FISA Amendments Act of 2007, which includes a provision that provides immunity for telecommunication companies who engaged in illegal surveillance activities. The bill must still be reconciled with a version passed in the House of Representatives which does not provide immunity.
