    Default .22 insert for .45?

Does anyone have a .22 conversion kit for their 1911 .45? Do they actually work? reliable? etc.?

    Thanks!

I have never owned one but I have fired them, they aren't just an "insert." The conversion kit is a new barrel, slide, recoil spring, and magazine.

I have never had one for my 1911, but I had one for my G23 and it worked very well. There are several conversion kits available. Manufacturers to look at are Advantage Arms, Kimber, Sig Sauer. The thing is, these kits cost as much as a 1911 .22 from GSG or Umerex, and for a little more, from Sig and Colt. It would be worth looking into to find the best deal ( and remember that whole guns can be engineered to tighter tolerances because they don't have to adapt to different frames.)

I have one for my Kimber Custom II stainless. If I use CCI ammo it functions perfectly. If I sneak in some federal bulk, I sometimes have a FTE. I'm happy with it. I got mine from Midway, they run them on sale from time to time.

I have a Kimber .22 conversion kit that I used on my SA Mil-Spec. Works fine.

Yes I have a Marvel Type 2. It works very well on my Series 80 frame. In fact I'm thinking about possibly going for their type 1 set up also.
