Default S&W Model 57 Followed Me Home

Just picked up a nice Model 57. No dash, nice nickel finish, pinned and recessed revolver in the ever popular 41 Magnum caliber.

Going to take it out tomorrow and see how it shoots. Any other "middle Magnum" fans out there?

That is one of the guns I've always wanted to try. Love the N frames and all S&W's in general. Congrats on the new revolver!

    Nice one!

I am told that a 41 Magnum equates to an "8" Iron in golf. You could play almost a year's worth of golf and get by with the 7 & 9 irons...but every now and then, a shot presents itself where you were happy to have had an 8.

I dunno...I do not play golf.

Nice revolver, but where do you get .41 caliber? I imagine that ammo is quite expensive.

Nice gun -- very nice. A lot of .41 mag owners are reloaders. Ammo can be found online, but usually is not stocked at most local gun shops. Looks like Cheaper than Dirt has the Bitterroot Valley semi-wadcutters for $24.69 per 50 and BVAC JHP for $27.89. That's not too bad. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemL...aspx?catid=681

Don't let the naysayers get to you, I've been shooting a 41 magnum for 25 years with no complaints. It will do most things asked of it and if by chance you find someday that you need more horsepower you can always step up to a 45/454.
