Stevens 320
Stevens 320 12 gauge pump action shotgun. Caught my eye and I was suprised to see it was a Steven because their 350 model is just sooooooooo ugly. I saw it the gun show this past weekend, knew nothing about it though and wouldn't make an impulse buy. Fortunately, I didn't buy it because they wanted $295 and MSRP is $235. Maybe something worth having as a KISS defensive weapon. I know you could probably get a Maverick 88 for that price but I thought it was worth a look anyway because it was different.

Re: Two shotguns that interest me . . .
The Escort guns are imported from all over, a few of their Citadel ones are made here.
That is one of those lines of guns that are here today, gone tomorrow.
parts may be a tough find later down the road.
Here is a list of dealers from the Legacy website:

I checked the wholesaler we use and they don't even show that model.
Might be a tough find locally.

For those prices I'd buy a blued basic Mossberg 930
The link to the Savage is the stupidest web page I've seen in a while, the pictures change but the model description stays the same.
Without knowing the exact model number you were looking at, the MSRP for the HD models range from $235 to $260 so unless the one you seen was a "special run", that price was high, I will tell you from looking at the dealer cost, Savage sure isn't doing the dealers any favors with those MSRP's, not a whole lot of room there on a couple of them
The wholesalers shows a couple in stock, so a local dealer should be able to order one in for you.
I haven't personally seen one, but IIRC, they are imports.
Honestly, I'd look at a Mossberg 500 or Maverick Security (which looks just like that 350) if a pump is going to work for ya.

Re: Two shotguns that interest me . . .
I've got a 930 SPX, two 870s and a Benelli Nova Tactical so shotguns are nothing new to me. I'm just looking into some of the lesser known brands for the hell of it. I already what Remington, Mossberg and Benelli have to offer and maybe there's something else out there worth buying . . . maybe not. Probably not.
After having some time to process all of the information, the Escort shotguns seem like they're built to cater to the cheap, tacticool crowd. The ones who want an overdone shotgun for HD (that's a joke in itself) but think an 870 for $400 is 'overpriced' and doesn't satisfy their ADD.

Re: Stevens 320
Hey folks,, I am from NH, and have spent many years hunting in both NY near Harpursville and Delhi. And some in your state . South west of Binghamton.
I have a couple questions maybe someone can help me out. I purchased a Stevens 320 with the ghost rings sights with the fiber optic front sight. I swear it's a Winchester 1200/1300 knock off, but it's tight no wiggle and noise from the slide , it shoots nice groups and works for me for 220.00 the bennelli / HK looking pistol grip butt stock unit is ok, the recoil is heavy because the stock is hollow, so you know what I did, I place a tube in the rear down to access the screw, and filled it with the expandable foam insulation. I taped off the slinky slot, and cleaned it up and painted the tan foam. Bought a Specter three point sling that cradles the butt and tightens up with Velcro and the front is attached under the magazine tube cap via a side plate. Works great. Now my question is does anyone know if the Choat Winchester ranger 120 mag extension thread on? I already bid on it I know it's the same s the Winchester 1200 1300 series just the wal mart version. I had a friend that bought a ranger 30–30 and it's a 94 for sure cheap wood that s all. Any add ons you know about let me know. I need to drill and tap a rail on the receiver. Any input on that would help. I have done that before but we wondering if anyone has more info. A far as the shotgun, heck 220.00 is a cheap gamble. It's a nice tight gun. A little Molina and it slides as great as the old 1200 , those got loose after a few hundred rounds and would almost eject and pump themselves. See you all around.. Gary

SORRY FOR BRINGING AN OLD THREAD BACK TO LIFE
I didn't want to start to a new thread so I figured I'd use this one. Have any of your views on the 320 changed in the last three or so years? I've seen an lot of reviews about the 320 from around 2012 complaining about weak spot welds on the pumps but haven't found any newer threads with this problem that are recent. Did Savage work out the kinks? Is the 320 worth $200?

Re: Stevens 320
I held one at a gun shop and hated it. It really felt like a cheap gun. THEN, I shot one at the range once because I thought I could give it another shot ... 2 malfunctions in 6 shots. I wouldn't buy one. For only slightly more money, you could get a mossberg or remington and have 1 million options for customizing and upgrading. Zero options for the 320 other than velcro shotshell carriers and winchester forends fit.

Re: Stevens 320
If you mean recent production "Winchester" guns, then it's great to know you have the option of throwing on an ugly birch press-checkered forend that was made by either USRAC or FN and sold with the Winchester logo on it.
I held a 320 at a gun shop as well, felt like a cheap POS, and seeing it was Turkish made as well, I decided to pass. They even have minds but do not think. -Dov Fischer
