Interesting Conversation While Getting Finger Printed

I had to get finger printed today for my Arizona CWP. When we were almost done the LEO asked if I was returning to AZ or applying there for a job. I advised him it was for my CWP so I can carry in more states and not run afoul of the law in states that don't accept a PA LTCF.

I took the opportunity to ask what Shippensburg PD's stance on people that open or concealed carry is, he stated that he does not have any issues with someones right to carry. He said that he has never had an issue with someone that carries but like anything else in life, it is those that lack common sense that are a problem. Being a small college town he says he has more issues with kids partying and fighting than he does with guns.

Just thought I would throw that out there if anyone comes this way. It seems that the SPD have a friendly stance on armed citizens. The fingerprinting was done right away and was $5 for non borough residents like me, residents are free. Now to wait for the AZ permit.
