I stippled my glock...pic
it all started one day at the range....it was like 80 degrees and my hands were sweating bad.
my G19 was slipping on every shot and i could not hold a tight grip.
I went home and did some research. i knew i want to remove the finger grooves ( i like 2nd Gens) as well as roughen the grip. the finger grooves do not line up with my fingers correctly. so after a few days of looking things up online i figure i could send it to this guy:
http://www.coldborecustom.com/
and pay about $100 or so....OR attempt it myself.
from everything I read and looked at he does great work. but i just didn't want to pay the money and i felt confident i could replicate his work.
i thought it all over for a day or two then finally broke out the dremel and the soldering iron and went to work.
the end result:
i feel i did a good job, and the feel of the gun is GREATLY improved. the texture is similar to a cats tongue. no more worries when you have wet or sweaty hands.
If you have thought about this and are too scared to attempt it, let me tell you it's not hard......it's not so easy a 5th grader can do it but if you have some skill level and a set of balls you can do it. take your time. remember you can take more off but can't put more back on.

Looks good, I'm just not going to attempt something like that myself. My luck I'd screw it up
I dislike the diamond commercials, give me something useful like guns, ammo or cookware.

let me also say that no i don't think it's as good as the link above but that guy also does that all the time, with time and practice it would not be hard to turn out a good product.

Great DIY job !!! That looks like it came right out of a Pro Gun shop. You took something pretty well made and made it better. You should be proud!

Looks way better than some of the "professional" jobs that I have seen.

Nice freakin job. The lines are crisp and straight. Did you lay it out with a pencil or something before getting started?
