Default Looking for a .22 handgun - suggestions?

I am looking for a .22 for the range and to kill small
Game with in a pinch. Been checking out the SR22, but am not opposed to a revolver either. Cheaper is better, but must be accurate! I have a Ruger single six, bit dislike the single action only and the 9 1/2 inch barrel. The gun is way to heavy as well.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

If you want to use it for hunting small game at this time you cant use a semi auto for it so that leaves a revolver or a single hot.I personally like ruger single six but they are single action and a double action would be more useful if you have to make quick shots .The ruger sr22 is a sweet gun.Just got one a couple weeks ago.Im gonna carry it when fishing for critter control and i am hoping that the state soon allows semi autos for hunting in the near future.

Was kinda thinking about going the revolver route anyway. Are the Taurus .22s decent?

I don't own one but have read great things about the older H&R .22 Revolvers. I do own a 3''barreled .32 and it is a decent well made gun. I do know there are several threads on the .22. Look them up I think it will be worth your time.

What's your budget? Since you want to take small game with it I'm going to recommend a number of different 22 revolvers.

If you have the cash, and want something you can pass down to future generations look to S&W. 17 or K22. These are double action.

If you want to go on the cheap and I'm talking like $120-150 you could opt for a Heritage Arms Rough Rider .22. They are single action, and get the job done.

Ruger makes a nice single action in the single six that will also last a lifetime, I believe they also have a new double action 22 as well.

    Really depends on price!

I was going to suggest the Heritage but the op said he already has a Ruger single six and dosen't like single action
