    Default New Ruger SR9C

Finally got to go to the range to shoot my new SR9C that I bought several months ago. Pumped about 100 rds through it with no problems. It worked like a charm everytime. I had a much better grip with the extended magazine, with the shorty being somewhat ok. Since I wanted a compact, I will be carrying with the shorty most often.

There was another shooter there with a Walther PPQ and we swapped pistols for about 40 rounds. It was a bit lighter that the Ruger (I like the Ruger weight better) but it shot just fine. It had the mag release around the bottom of the trigger guard which was also different. It wasn't a bad pistol, but I give my SR9C a bit of an edge.

This other shooter was new to firearms ownership (the Walther is his first gun), so I let him have a go with my 1911. He liked it a lot and was surprised that the recoil was not as bad as he had heard. He was a pretty good shot and was right on target with old slabsides. I think he's gonna get one for his next pistol. All in all it was a good day at the range.

Congratulations on your SR9C. Range days with a new gun are hard to beat.

I like my SR9C i think it one of the best semi auto that Ruger has ever made.
Its small and high capacity with the extra mag. So far its a very accurate and fast shooting gun. Far better then the P11 it replaced.

My SR9C replaced my P-85. After some 25 years it was time to give the old girl a rest. I really like the new gun, the high visibility sights really let you line up fast and the trigger action seems real good too. I also like the fact that it has a slide safety in addition to the one on the trigger.

Love mine..cant say /stress how much MORE I lie it than I did the Glock 23(and its horrid grips) that it replaced..Ive got over 1500 flawless rounds through it now...all mixed brands RWS,Remington, federal,Gold Dots,Golden Sabres shot them all well from 115 grain to 147 grain. My go to rounds now are the Federal from Walmart ive not found ammo cheaper locally or online.
