That thing must be loud as hell. I know what a 6" Thompson Contender does. Can only imagine a revolver in .223

Generally, bottleneck cases in a revolver do not work out well. Unless the chambers in the cylinder are kept scrupulously clean, it will suffer from cartridge setback, which ties-up the cylinder, leaving you with a nifty paperweight in your hand. Phenomena was first noted with the S&W model 53 (.22 Jet). Not as much a problem with the old time low-intensity cartridges like the .32-20 and .44-40. Not sure if this is/was a factor with the .17 HMR revolvers.
