Sheriff stopped me leaving the Tarentum gun show...
So I'm walking out of the gun show in Tarentum on Sunday. Carrying a Land's End bag** with my PT99 I took to sell and various swag in it. Passed between two sheriff types flanking the doorway and then out the little cubby where the ticket sellers and the gun checkers sit. Just as I hit daylight I hear "Sir. Sir!" I turned around to see a sheriff lady walking towards me. She then said "Did you purchase any firearms inside?"
I did not, and I said "No ma'am." We bothed turned and walked away.
Then I wondered what that was all about. What if I had bought a firearm? What if she said "I need to search your bag" or "you need to come back inside" or any number of things. Now I'm dying to know what that was about. Because really, if she suspected me of <whatever> how did me saying "nope" change her mind?
Anyone ever have that happen?
** Anyone thinking to question my manhood because I had a LE bag can go right ahead. LE bags are the shit. Give me a feather boa and some star shaped glasses and call me fabulous. Just sayin.

If you're talking about the cute little brunette at the door, I think she was just hitting on you and you didn't pick up on the clues.

PGCA gives the dealers a tag to fill out when buying a weapon at a table with the dealer's name and weapon serial number. They just want to make sure that if you are walking out with a gun that it was not swiped off a table.
Same idea for when they check your weapon at the door and zip-tie through the action and tag it. If you sold your PT99 as a walk-around to another show goer, the tag needs to be on it when they go out the door.

Re: Sheriff stopped me leaving the Tarentum gun show...
Yeah I make it a point to cut the zip tie off at the point where I leave and chamber a round immediately, I've walked out of some gun shows and witnessed some absolutely RETARDED people doing stupid shit (pointing guns at each other, looking down barrels, loading and unloading guns, working actions with rounds in the guns...
just stupid shit. I don't really go to them anymore because there is no sense in paying the money to stand shoulder to shoulder with a ton of other guys while looking at the same shit on every table but I got in the habit of carrying my smart carry and I just didn't bother reporting I had a gun... let them try and search me.The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

No, no... she was just checking to see of you bought any gun show loopholes.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

...and what do you suppose her reaction would have been if your response was, "that is an interrogatory and I am not required to answer. Am I free to go?"
