Re: CCW Friendly (or unfriendly) businesses across the state
Anyone up for an OC dinner at Red Lobster?
IIRC Red Lobster is notorious on OCDO for being anti-carry, especially in Virginia.
Since Virginia passed legislation banning concealed carry in restaurants that serve alcohol, the liberty-minded individuals there have realized the need to OC in order to legally stay armed while eating out. Consequently, our good Virginians have begun to find out very quickly which establishments are anti- and pro-carry. I carry every time I'm in Red Lobster in Scranton.
Beside how do you kill the live lobsters in the front of the restaurant without a 45 ACP

I don't know what the standard for "open" is in Virginia, but here in Commonwealth v. Hawkins we're told that in the waistband is considered "open" enough... so while not advised, maybe no new holster necessary?
ETA: That law does seem to be a good example of hilariously ironic unintended consequences. Just like it would be interesting to see what would happen if all of the anti-gun people rally around Obama's push to ban "concealed carry" nationwide, and wake up the next morning to see everyone and his brother OCing.Last edited by imperialism2024; February 12th, 2008 at 02:44 PM. Maybe we should do this to businesses that don't allow guns.
