SA target 1911 9mm vs STI Spartan 9mm
My next pistol is gonna be a 9mm 1911, these two are in my price range with features i want like adjustable rear sight etc. I just can't make up my damn mind, i love the way the springfield looks BY FAR, i can't stand the billboards on the STI guns, but they seem to have a better rep than the SA and the STI is about 200 bucks cheaper. Throw some opinions my direction

Well, I think I would get the Springfield then....shoot it a bunch........and then send it to Springfield's custom shop for whatever you figure out you'd like done to it. Their shop is top notch. You could also score JMB's other masterpiece, a Browning Hi Power. With an inexpensive trigger job they are outstanding.

Re: SA target 1911 9mm vs STI Spartan 9mm
Maybe consider going up one notch on the STI tree to the Trojan. I looked around for a 9mm 1911 for quite a while and from what I read - no personal experience - it seemed to take an extra couple of hundred dollars to make the S/A function and shoot reliably and accurately. My choices came down to a DW Pointman 9 or a S&W Pro with adjustable sights - neither of which I could find, or had prospects of becoming available in the near future. I decided to "bite the bullet" and up the budget (buy once, cry once) and - considering how many STI's I see in competition (USPSA & IDPA) ordered an STI (a little higher up the chain than the Trojan). Still waiting, but at least I know it's coming. STI builds a lot of gun for the money.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
