Default anyone local that can help me zero a scope?

I've tried my hardest, thinking I knew what I was doing! Turns out I don't! Wasted 20 rounds of 7.62x51 trying... I did hit the paper when I aimed two feet to the right though

I was hoping maybe some one could come out, zero my scope for me also teach me how to in the process. I'm in Wilkes-Barre, so I'm looking for some one local, but if you have a range that's good, I'll travel within reason.

    Thanks in advance!

I could help but my schedule is tight. Currently working six days a week. And Sunday is run around day. Call Piestracs or Advanced arms and see if they can bore sight it for you. That should get you on the paper.

What type of gun is it?

Buy yourself a laser bore sighter, quickest and easiest way to rough it in, and then fine tune by shooting.

all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Start at 50 yards. Cover an area atleast 5ft by 5ft if possible to see where you are hitting. Get your scope dialed in at that range then move to 100 yards. You will be on paper at 100 yards and should only need 6 rounds at the 100 yard mark. 20 rounds should be plenty to get yourself dialed in. If you have access to a bore sighter use it. Itll help you skip the need to shoot at 50 yards.

so, with a bore sighter, all I would need to do is load it in the chamber then aim the scope at where the laser is pointing?

There are a few different types of bore sighter. But the idea is that it will get you on the papper quicker.

Starting out at a shorter distance is not a bad idea also.

I've heard people say to put your rifle on bags or some type of rest, take the action out, and you can just look down the barrel, kinda getting an idea where your rifle will be hitting, dial your scope to that area, should get you on paper at least. Then walk it in from there.

IDK, I've never tried it, I dont own any bolt guns. Makes sense though. You said when you held right 2', you hit paper. So you just need to bring your reticle to the right by 2'

Good luck, I wish I lived closer. Its definately easier if you have someone watching your hits and can tell you where you need to go.
and to the dust you shall return
