    Default Sig 1911-22

I was at the shop yesterday and decided to put some money down on a Sig 1911-22. Has anyone used one yet?

The SIG is a re-branded GSG 1911-22. I don't own one but I've used it. Very nice.

if the the quality of their 1911 22 is any where near the mosquito or p220 22 you need to go get your money back. my mosquito was the most unreliable pistol i've ever owned and my p220 22 isn't much better. my mosquito experieced every malfunction imaginable and the last time i took it to the range it failed to extract almost every round. i ended up trading it in for something else at a huge loss but i was glad to get rid of it. my p220 22 runs better but it still fails to extract and stove pipes whenever i take it out.

I have one and shoot the shit out of it. Pretty accurate, pretty reliable. Some hiccups. Some I think are ammo related, some because I don't clean it to regular. It's got a nice hefty feel to it not like a usual 22. The GSG 1911/22 is the same gun without the Sig logo. Cheaper too. I paid 400 out the door for mine last summer.

I have the GSG 1911 (same gun as others have said) and it's awesome. Very happy with it thus far and I haven't had a single failure with about 600-700rds fired.

I'm in agreement. Everyone is trying to shoehorn a "combat" pistol into a .22, a la Walther P22, and it just doesn't work IMO. S&W is doing it, Ruger is doing, Sig is doing it (Sorta). I say if you want a plinker buy a plinker.

The new Ruger SP101 in .22 looks nice, so do the multitude of S&W rimfire offerings in proven wheelgun designs. There's always the Ruger MK series and the Browning Buckmark, as well as the higher end target pistols, Hi Standard, the Model 41, etc.

I say go with the sure thing instead of some unproven design that exists solely to look cool.
