Found one of my grails today, Ruger Mark II 10"
Went on a drive to Bob's A&N in Clearfield today to sell a handgun to a fellow. While having the gun transferred, I spotted this beautiful 10" Mark II in the used case. I haven't been actively seeking one of these guns, but i've always told myself if I find one in good shape and priced right i'll take it home with me.
It's pretty much in perfect condition, just a little silvering on the side of the barrel. Internals are immaculate. It's incredibly heavy and impractical compared to other Mark II's, but it fills a unique niche. I'm sure it will be an incredible shooter when I take it out tomorrow. Going to put Volquartsen internals in it soon.
Serial prefix is 213 which puts it's year of manufacture in 1988. I paid $400 for it which I think is pretty good.

The only problem with the 10" is that after shooting it you will have to buy better rifles to compete with it. Ours with Eley 10X will shoot about 1" at 100 yds. if I do my part on the trigger. I think that you will get used to the weight and balance and really like it.

Those rear sights look serious.

Re: Found one of my grails today, Ruger Mark II 10"
I'm actually thinking of upgrading the rear sight to the Volquartsen TL200 rear sight as I prefer the sight picture on it. However, I need to make sure it's compatible with the front sight of the 10" Mark II as the 10" models use a different height front sight and I believe the rear sight notch is slightly different as well compared to the shorter models.

Nice. I had one of them and got offered more than I paid for it and sold it. I now have a Charger that is as much fun and it has a 25 round mag.

Very nice. That's one I've been causally looking for myself.
The MK series is such a fun gun as it is, the 10 inch has to move the fun up a couple notches.
Great find. Good price too.Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here
