Default What to do with this AR-15 barrel?

Have a DSC 5.56 NATO 1-9 twist barrel, but that's it. Personally, I'm an AK guy, so I'd like to know what you all would do with it? Selling it is a HUGE probability but I have been pricing uppers and lowers. The problem is I don't want to spend hundreds on a rifle I'd just plink with (AK is my go to). If I were to spend that much on it, I'd prefer to buy another AK or ammo.

    Any thoughts?

I think you answered your own question here. If you don't want an AR, then sell the barrel and be done with it. If you do build an AR just because you have a barrel, are you going to use it and enjoy it, or is it just going to sit in the safe collecting dust until you decide to sell it to fund something else? If the latter, then just save yourself the trouble of building an AR and sell the barrel to somebody who will use it.

Sell it and sell it now. Most folks building AR's are moving to the 1-7 twist barrel to better stabilize the heavier 75 and 77 gr bullet. Your barrel in my opinion will only go down in value in the future.

In the end I traded it for some worth while gunsmithing on my AKs.

How does one unintentionally end up with an AR-15 barrel, and not have a plan to utilize it? Do you have a magic barrel tree?

Dad gave it to me since he bought a whole rifle. It sat in the closet for quite some time...
