PA resident want to carry in DE
So I finally got my CHL. The problem is I live real close (as in less than 2 miles) from the PA/DE border. What state is the easiest non resident CCW permit to get that has reciprocity with Delaware?

I'm with you on this, I was riding my motorcycle through the Brandywine Battlefield area yesterday It sucked having to keep in mind where some invisible border existed that would make me go from being a law abiding citizen to a criminal simply by crossing over it.

Re: PA resident want to carry in DE
I'll be getting my AZ permit. You have to give'em a ring and they'll send out the packet. Florida has a longer renewal period but it's pricier and a little more involved but faster turnaround from what I've heard. Coverage-wise they're pretty close and PA LTCF gives you Florida if that's any concern.

Re: PA resident want to carry in DE
You can get Arizona for $60 for 5 years, renewals for $43 with lots of reciprocity including DE and OH.
Email them and ask for an application packet. Or call them: 602-256-6280 or 800-256-6280.
Non-residents can have training from anywhere (no special class)...as long as it is approved by AZ.
Here is the AZ revised statute, which includes training requirements and what they will accept.
Permits have been being issued usually within 4-6 weeks to qualified PA residents.
UT also gives you DE, but you need a class by a UT certified instructor. There are several members here who are instructors, including:
Gregory R. Brown, NREMT-P
Deputy Chief, Training Division
Team Life, Inc.

Re: PA resident want to carry in DE
So AZ and FL I don't need to take a class? I just send in the paperwork and pay the fee?

Re: PA resident want to carry in DE
In FL you need to take a class, or if you were in the military you will need a copy of your ddform 214 instead of a class. The cost is $117 for 7 years.

Re: PA resident want to carry in DE
For AZ you also need some sort of training or a DD-214 will do as well. It seems like AZ will take just about anything for training, including any NRA or hunting course, although their law seems to suggest their standards require live fire in the course. If you are iffy then look into it or contact them.

Re: PA resident want to carry in DE
I got my FL license thanks to a SAF road show at the gun show in Oaks. Fast and easy. They took care of photos and finger prints. FL accepts NRA certifications and DD214.
