Re: Smith SW9VE or Ruger P95
Out of those two guns I'd go with the Ruger P95, no doubt about it. The alternative of course is to try to find a used gun in the same price range.

Re: Smith SW9VE or Ruger P95
I would go with the Ruger since I own one. It is my most accurate 9mm (at least for me) It shoots anything you feed it once you get a couple hundred rounds through it and most importantly its reliable.

Re: Smith SW9VE or Ruger P95
Its hard to say which would be a better choice Without knowing what the gun is used for.
I would go with ruger as well.
But I myself would go with S&W's new SD9 if I have to pick.
I found mine slightly used for $299Audemus jura nostra defendere

The P95, or try to find a local dealer selling Tanfoglio Witnesses.
I just bought a full size polymer in 9mm for $299 new, he also had them in .40.
Shoots excellent.
Mags are a bit tricky, they changed them a few years back, the mags for the old steel frame guns work but without the plastic baseplate, they can get your finger when firing.

Re: Smith SW9VE or Ruger P95
I too voted for the Ruger. That being said, its intended use is important. If you are going to be carrying for a job, and weight and concealability aren't a factor, I would be looking at a used beretta or the beretta clone from cdnn ( info found in another post in this area ) as holsters, mags, and parts are common and cheap. Also mentioned earlier was the EEA witness ( or any cz clone ) also a good choice.

Re: Smith SW9VE or Ruger P95
I voted Sigma. I owned a P95 and still own a Sigma. The Ruger felt cheaply made and was not as accurate as the Sigma. The Ruger is a lot bulkier. The Ruger's fit and finish was not as tight as the Sigma. Remove 2 springs and the trigger on the Sigma gets much better. These are just the some of the little things I found about them. You can't go wrong with either one though.
Your web muscles do not frighten me.

Re: Smith SW9VE or Ruger P95
i had the ruger and am a fan of some of their guns, but the P95 wasnt one of them. honestly to me is a big ugly paper weight. jammed alot and not worth a damn if you want to sell it.
the smith i have only shot about 50 rounds through. it wasnt bad, but its another one that if you want to get rid of it...good luck.
that said, some people swear by the p95, but then again, some dont. take it what its worth. i just saw a new sig sp2022 today with laser for 389.00, that is a great gun at a great price.
