The only way I can shoot my .454 is hand loading.

Reload with Berrys plated bullets loaded just hotter than cast lead specs. Costs me about 35 cents a round at about 1200fps.

So I was just doing the math and at your current cost you could pay for an entire reloading setup for the cost and net savings of about 200 rounds of purchased ammo versus going with reloading. At my cost of 35 a round I would save $380 just in 200 rounds. That money could easily buy you the basics you need to start reloading. It might even cover some component cost to get you on your way. Now all you have to do is figure out how much you want or have the time to shoot it.

BTW a box of 500 Berrys plated 350 grain FMJ is about 115 with free shipping. These also work great in 50 Beowulf.

There are certain calibers that it really pays to reload for. That is one of them. You can get a basic RCBS single stage press kit for a couple hundred dollars. For the money you'd be saving over the cost of factory ammo you'd have a return on your investment in no time. Plus it's really not hard at all to do.
