    Default YCSD and permit

I received my renewal paperwork in the mail last week, I am not up until May,
I was orginally intending to just bite the bullet and go downtown but decided to do an expiriment and see how long it would take.
I filled out the form and put it in the mail on tuesday afternoon. Today (Thursday) I checked my email and there it was.
"Your permit is ready". I still have to make the trip downtown, but it was not the 3 week wait I had 5 years ago.
And I did not procrastinate like normal. So I will have to take off from work a little early and go pick it up.
Positive rep for the York county Sheriff.
espically when you read what some other counties are like.

Two days? Man, that's fast! Yeah, I think we get lucky with the YCSD.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I had the same experience not long ago. The individual doing this job is awesome at it. I took time to tell him that when I went in to get mine.
Archie Gates: No unnecessary shots, Conrad, 'cause we know what they do.
Conrad Vig: Make infected pockets full of bile, sir.
Archie Gates: That's right, Conrad, that's what they do.

Damn, 2 days? Must be hell, my last renewal was 45 minutes.

    45 minutes!!! That is insane.

York did mine and the Mrs' in 17 minutes. Well, 17 minutes was the time I signed in and out at the "check in your hardware" counter. So subtract that and security....well, you get the point.

We thanked them as well. York County does an excellent job.

Mine included the time it took to park the car, get one of the kids out, walk to the court house, go through security, and then some time bullshitting with the deputy that does the paper work.

I do hear Lancaster is just as good.

My step-brother (Marine) just went in for his - there. He was all worried about the references and how long it would take. He was in and out in about 15 min or so.

FWIW: I love sharing these stories with my boss who lives in Maryland.
