Shortening a Rifle Barrel
How difficult is it to cut down a rifle barrel (I'm not specifying length) but what would the procedure for that be?? hacksaw and file?? just wondering if anyone has any input.

Re: Shortening a Rifle Barrel
Hacksaw will work. You would need to recrown the muzzle then. There is a tool that fits in the bore that you spin that makes a true 90 degrees. Then you need to counter sink it a tad - which can be done a number of ways.

The muzzle crown has A LOT to do with accuracy.
You can cut the barrel, but it should be recrowned.
A gunsmith shouldn't charge much for this or you can get the tools to recrown from Brownells.
