Traveling to NJ for a High Power Clinic
I am thinking of driving to NJ for a High Power Clinic. I shoot service rifle so I will have a post ban AR, about 200 rounds of .223 handloaded and the 20 round mags used for service rifle. My apprehension stems from the lack of knowledge in NJ gun laws. Can someone explain what laws I must know to legally attend the clinic or your reasons why I am better off staying in PA. Thanks in advance.

no folding stocks, no collapsible stocks, no flash hiders and no magazines over 15 rounds. It sucks to shot in jersey. and one more thing you need a registration card to buy ammo in jersey

Re: Traveling to NJ for a High Power Clinic
Why in hell would anyone hold a "high power clinic" in NJ? For that matter, why would anyone in his right mind open any business, or conduct any kind of training or seminar, relating to firearms in this godawful state? Perhaps if the NJ residents who wished to attend such seminars or conduct such business did so in neighboring states where the firearm laws were much easier to work with, they'd be more inclined to change things at home - or move. I can't imagine why a PA resident would want to go to NJ for anything gun related. The risk seems to nullify any advantage that might be gained.

Re: Traveling to NJ for a High Power Clinic
With NJ just an hour from here, I never entertain the idea of going to NJ with a firearm for a competition. The convoluted NJ transportation laws and the "everything is a felony" NJ justice system means there is no reward to justify the risk.
Although Winslow and Old Bridge put on some great events, I'm much safer not going there.

You coud have all your T's crossed and I's dotted, and if you got stopped I guarantee you the cops would find a violation somewhere. I simply would not go.

Ever think of contacting the instructor running the clinic?

I would not travel to nor spend one dime in that state.
Any money spent there will be taxed and those taxes no matter how small will end up in the state coffers to pay for the enforcement of their draconian laws.
As a resident of a somewhat free state, I make it a rule to never go into Jersey.
