Default Intentional Benefit of using Federal Personal Defense Ammunition

I created a thread about a month ago to get some feedback as to how some of us treat our carry ammo, specifically if we are strapped financially or do not have multiple mags to use when we go to the range.

My particular concern was the issue related to set-back which is purported to happen with the bullet as it is chambered and rechambered.

    Some suggestions were:

    1. fire the chambered round
    2. rotate out the chambered round
    3. have a range magazine on hand (which still doesn't address the chambered round)

I decided to just monitor, inspect and act accordingly. Interesting enough, Federal ammunition (if you have a round get it out) have designed their casing to reduce issue related to set-back, check out the dotted line on the casing. I suspected such and this article anecdotally confirmed it

Yes many casings have a cannalure to assist in preventing bullet setback. It helps but is not fool proof or guaranteed fix.
