    Default Glock 25???

So, I was poking around on various manufactures site and I saw on Glock's that they now offer a .380 chambered pistol. I'm confused as to why it's listed as LEO only. Did it just come out and they don't want all the fan boys scooping it up as soon as it hits the shelves. As anyone else seen these before? http://us.glock.com/products/model/g25

The .380 ACP models are primarily intended for markets which prohibit civilian ownership of firearms chambered in so-called "military calibers" such as 9×19mm Parabellum. They are not offered in the United States, as certain characteristics of the gun make it unable to pass U.S. import restrictions.

Glock .380s have been around for a while, sold mostly in countries where civilians can't use "military" calibers. As I understand, they don't satisfy the "point system" for import into the US.

Think Glock 19, but blowback and .380. And you can't have one.

They also make a Glock 28, 26 sized, blowback as well. You can't have one of those either.

As others have said, It's been around for awhile. Won't pass the BATFE point system so you won't find many in the US, although some do exist here. I guess Glock doesn't think it'll sell all that well in the US or they'd add some doo-hickies and wizz-bangs to pass the standards.

In all honesty there is no real reason to have one since they are the exact same size as the 9mm, 40. & .357SIG counterparts, and they are all much better calibers, unless of course you want it "just because"

To my knowledge, police officers can order them, and I think you can have one if the officer sold it to you. Don't quote me though because that is just speculative based on what I've read.

That being said, I want one, just because

I have some detailed pics of a G25 from another site. Some contries cannot own a 9mm handgun because its considered a "military caliber" so they are stuck with the .380acp.

Honestly there is no reason to buy a G25 or G28 unless you just have to have one. The G19/G26 packs more power, same capacity, ammo is cheaper, mags are everywhere, parts are everywhere and etc. No brainer to me. Yes a fully loaded G25 weighs a tiny bit less than a fully loaded G19 but so what.
