    Default Sig GOTM question

I bought a P229 for work, and was told by the seller it was a "Gun of The Month" well I googled this but can't find what makes it unique. Does this make it worth more? Is it limited number? Can someone shed some light on this for me? I plan on listing it in classifieds but want to know the details so I know what I have. And it was a SA/DA changed to a Dak before I purchased it.

I used to hear that term used by "Shooting USA" host Jim Scoutin. They used to give away a Gun Of The Month, every month on thier forum. The questions were asked on the web-site, but the answers were given during the tv show episode.

The Sig "GOTM" was a special run of guns that Sig produced from 2003 til 2006.
They featured a different model of gun each month, with varying options and finishes. The total production also varied from month to month.
They generally aren't worth much extra unless the gun is like new in the box and has all of the original papers, mags, and manuals with it.

Here is a list that was compiled by a member on the Sig Forum

    Good luck with the sale.

Thanks 1blindref, that was easy. So, looks like mine is 1 of 251 June of '05. I do like the reverse two-tone better than standard two-tone. But not too thrilled with it. I liked my M&P better, and my CZ even more.

If it's the DAK trigger that you don't like, you can always switch it back to the DA/SA version and sell the DAK parts.
P229's were designed around the 40S&W round. They are very soft shooting guns.

Do you have the original box with the matching end label that says "GOTM" on it?

I have a box at home, I'll have to look when I get home tonight. It will say GOTM on the box?

No. It should have 229-40-JUN05 across the top line of the end label.

Here is the end label from the November 2005 P228 as an example
