Looking for a gun club
I am looking for a new gun club to join; the features that I am looking for are as follows:
Within 45 minutes of Hatfield
200+ yard rifle range
25+ pistol range
Archery range is a bonus but not necessary
A waiting list that does not stretch into the infinite
No limit on ammunition in magazine
A host of people that like to talk while shooting
A near match is probably alright as well. I am willing to help out with range cleanup duties etc. Fees are not a big issue.
Thank you,
Andros

Re: Looking for a gun club
I'm up in Green Lane (out past Harleysville by Green Lane Park where 63 and 29 intersect) and I'm looking for a club to join as well. I've got a short list together and want to visit them before I make a decision in the next few weeks - if you are interested let me know and we could hit a few together. Most are a bit north of me (within 30 minutes or so) so they are within reach of you as well.

Re: Looking for a gun club
Theres gotta be a club right there somewhere... I used to work at Roslyn Supply and I used to hear'em shooting all the time. I never really pursued it because I'm a member at a local club fairly close to my house (Allentown area) but maybe with a little digging you could find it.
Sorry, I know this probably wasn't much help. Good luck guys.

Did you find a place with a 200 yard or longer rifle range?

Re: Looking for a gun club
I can't find any within 45 minutes, most seem to be about an hour away up west of Allentown.

Re: Looking for a gun club
Well....found this club - could throw a stone and hit the place from my house. Now I know where all the shooting is coming from. Not listed in most search engines for ranges, found it at wheretoshoot.org.

And they have a 200 yard rifle range - but some other items (5 round max magazine load) that are a bit silly (IMHO).

Re: Looking for a gun club
Aside from the ammo limit that looks perfect.

Re: Looking for a gun club
The one range in use at a time/first come first serve thing could be a pisser sometimes. Dont know if you noticed that in the rules. By that, I'm guessing membership is pretty low and it must not get very busy. Hell, locked gates even. They must give everyone a key or the combo to a lock or something.
Still though, I think I'd look into joining if I was you guys. Its so close.
