Open Carry in Whitehalll Township Lowe's
I hope that the person OC'ing in the Lowe's in Whitehall Twsp is on this forum. While at work we just heard Whitehall PD get dispatched there for someone who was walking around with a firearm in a holster, not "brandishing" it like the responding officer asked. I'd like to know how the Whitehall PD handeled it.

Yeah I heard this call too while at work today. Also very eager to know how Whitehall Police handled the situation. A total of 4 officers responded but that is all I know.

Re: Open Carry in Whitehalll Township Lowe's
It wasnt me..... today, but Ive OC'd there a few times in the last six or so months.
Id love to meetup with Whitehall. Allentown knows who I am (at least a couple of officers), as do a few South Whitehall (wondering if its the same force). I stop into a convenience store regularly OC'ng down the street from the Starbucks on Tilghman that Pennsy organized a Valentines Day OC event at.... Never a word from them.
And just today I OC'd at the Promenade - went into Brooks Brothers to buy a jacket.... they know me as the "gun guy" in there. Just sayin

It wasn't me either, although I have been in there a bunch of times OC. I have only met one Whitehall cop, and he was not the most friendly sort. It had nothing to do with guns. It had everything to do with him having to get out of his car in the rain because some girl rear ended me. You would have thought we did it on purpose just to make him get out of his car. He was a screamer too, like everyone in the world is hard of hearing.

I'd like to know also. Another Question I've never been to that Lowes, Does it have a big 'No Weapons Allowed' Sign? Just wonder if that would influence how the PD responded.

I don't believe it does. The cops responding asked if it was in a holster and when they were told yes they didn't seem worried. Whoever got there first said the person was doing nothing wrong and the store was waiting on a call from corporate ti find out of the person was ok, our needed to leave.

No, two different forces.
Not knowing the full story I'm happy to hear the police requested more information to determine their entry into the store. Not that half the force responded and entered the store guns drawn.
Also seems like at least one of the responding officers was aware open carry is legal.

I spent all day up that way today, went to the dentist (CC, because I refuse to lay down anywhere except my couch while OCing), then switched to OC for a trip to Applebee's with the girlfriend and her 5 year old, then to Target. No issues what so ever.

I always OC in Willow Grove Lowes. Never had a problem there. Maybe the fact, that I know half of their employees by name (and they know me, I'm kinda frequent flyer there) helps a bit.

I've actually OC'd in that same lowes, but I iron my pants and tuck in my shirt, so they probably just thought I was a cop.
