    Default Butler area gunsmiths?

    Hello all,

Will be in the area next week and am curious to know if there are any gunsmiths in the area who could some minor work for me. (At least I think it's minor...)

I have a TGI AMD-65 which does not have a rear sling swivel. For whatever reason, these are not built with the rear swivel, only the front loop.

I have purchased a genuine AMD-65 sling loop and a Yugo spring steel loop clip, which looks like it would work perfectly. I would need a gunsmith to slot the 1mm receiver in the correct location for the clip. There are templates online, which I have printed out and would include.

I figured that I might take a chance on a good 'smith in the Butler area as there are seemingly no gunsmiths in my area who will either do this work, or are anything remotely close to reliable. Mostly, when inquiring, I am just met with "no." I absolutely cannot find anyone within a reasonable driving distance to do this work. I've even had to send the bolt carrier out to Oklahoma just to get the gas piston swapped out with a Made In USA AK-Builder.com stainless steel gas piston for 922r compliance.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm going to be in town for a week. Surely someone can help me out.

Oh well, no gunsmiths at all in Butler I guess, and now back in Tennessee... Was worth a try here.

Did stop in Sportsman's Supply. Great store.

I use Wolf Creek Guns in Jackson center above Grove City, about an hour form Butler though.

Thanks for the response! No idea when I'll be back in the Butler area. I wouldn't have minded taking it out to Grove City. Would have saved me the trouble of having to ship it and take the chance on it being damaged or lost.

That said, I've already arranged to ship it out to Two Rivers Arms in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They've done some work for me in the past and it's worked out very well. Great guys too.
