Range Question
OK so I just recently got my first two guns, and have yet to go to a range to shoot them. I'd like to go tomorrow (Monday so technically today) if possible to do so. Does anyone know where would be a good place to go or where I could even go as I have no memberships anywhere? (I am in Hanover which is in York County, I don't mind driving but would like to keep it in the hour or so range if possible)
Any other tips or suggestions appreciated as well. I'm pretty clueless on certain any range procedures there may be...

Re: Range Question
Only place I know of that no membership is needed is West York Sporting Goods. It is on W. Market St. right by the fairgrounds. Their hours seem to be a little flakey so you should call ahead.

You can also go to Freedom Armory just off the Glen Rock exit of 83. You'll have to get a membership, but you can get it and shoot right away.

Re: Range Question
There's SGL range off Rt 74 by Gifford Pinchot. You do need a permit or hunting license and you can buy & print from your computer.
Here's all the info straight from the horse's mouth:

Re: Range Question
Shooters delight in Chambersburg. $6.50 per half hour, no one standing over your shoulder, no annual memberships required. Eye/ear protection required.
(sorry this is 12 hours late)

Re: Range Question
If there are other people shooting at any at least outdoor range you may go to. Make sure to communicate with them if you or they need to walk down range. And make sure to be polite, considerate as possible when you need to walk down range, or they need to.
You'll need at least ear protection, and some targets. Some ranges as said may require eye protection.

Re: Range Question
To late to help you find somewhere to shoot last week but for future reference there is a range in Hanover out by the Toyota dealership. They do require a membership, and I believe you must get a current member to sponsor you.
Its green springs rod and gun club, I've heard some good things about it but not yet a member myself so can't tell you for sure but maybe something to look into.
