Anyone ever use Lewis Lead Remover?

Anyone ever use one of these on their revolvers? Do they really truly work and how easy/hard are they to use?

I see Brownells sells them but not Midway.

I've used them from time to time and work fairly well and easy to use .
They work extremely well for cleaning the forcing cone and highly recommend for that purpose .

I have one I use on revolver forcing cones and for heavily leaded barrels. They remove lead like no other. I do however, use a Dewey brass loop-ended cleaning rod in lieu of the aluminum t-handle rod that comes with it (don't care for aluminum rods).

Used it years ago and remember it worked as advertised. Now I use coarse bronze or copper wool wrapped around a tight jag. Chore boy a copper scouring pad, is a cleaning product that is, or was, available locally. A few strands around a tight jag and some Ed's Red cleaned the barrel up nicely. If trying this be sure it's not a counterfeit product made of stainless steel and colored copper. Will not be attracted to a magnet.

I also have one and have used it on on a revolver and semi auto barrels and it works great. I also got mine from Brownells. Be sure to order extra brass patches.

I have one. Bought it to see if it was better than the Chore Boy method. It works, but no better or worse than the Chore Boy.

If interested, Walgreen's has genuine Chore Boy copper pads. I buy them by the case online... They work pretty darn well for pots and pans too.

Very happy with mine. Helped to clean out a revolver that had soft factory lead shot thru it.

I've had and used one since 1989 when I was shooting PPC (you shot a lot of 148 gr HBWC's). The WC's would lead up a barrel after a while and in between relays I'd use it to pull all the leading out and to clean up the forcing cone before shooting again. Used correctly, they work great.

Wise man. I had a Lewis Lead Remover years ago, and one day the threaded end sheared off of the rod while the tip was in the barrel. Not fun.

Back in the ( now-thankfully now done with) days of trying the hottest, fastest, most impressive loadings in a Ruger 44 Mag I could safely concoct, I had a LOT of leading, sometimes from just a few shots. We were shooting those crazy little silhouette targets while lying all screwed-up on the ground with a piece of rubber tire wrapped around our legs. What FUN!

That Lewis lead Remover was my best friend! No kidding. Some "hard-cast" bullets would get six rounds before needing the brass patch.

OASN, I never did find that shooting a few jacketed bullets after leading did hardly anything but made the leading tougher to clear.
